(DJ Jeffy T - Tone Deaf Karaoke)
Jeff has been in the entertainment industry since 2005 and owned and operated the hugely popular 'Tone Deaf Karaoke' for 4 years. Jeff has several successful weddings under his belt as well as other events. Fun and Professional; Jeff takes pride in being both.
Jeff fell in love with music at an early age. After trying many instruments such as piano, guitar, and drums, he found his niche was providing music to a crowd by just knowing what to play at the right moment. It's always been about the fun! His famous words of wisdom to other DJ's are, "I can teach you how to push buttons, but I can't teach you how to care."
What sets you apart from your competition?
I have always been my worst critic. Although everyone is having a great time and I get compliments, I'm always looking for ways to improve. All of us at Lights Out share our successes and try to make the next event even better than the last.
What do you do to motivate people to dance and participate?
That's a great question, but not an easy one to answer. I've been to events where the DJ has either verbally or almost physically drug people out of their chairs. That's just not my style. I have been blessed with the ability to read the crowd and/or the mood of the room, then play the tunes the people like. I just love it when I start a song and someone yells out "That's my jam" and runs to the dance floor.
How do you prepare for weddings?
Preparation is the key to any successful event. Personally I feel there should be 2-3 meetings with the guest of honor. The information exchanged during these meetings will help me know the things you want and prevent me from doing things you don't want.
